This book is not another history of the Society of Friends, but rather an attempt to present Quakerism as an interpretation of Christian teaching relevant to the condition of our world today. The approach is quite personnal; and as it came about that the author's entry into the Quaker fold was by way of the historical path, several chapters record the earlier appeal to his thinking.
